Track

Track: tracks, events and race weekends

Save your tracks, make an event for each track day or race weekend, and PitStop files every session under it, tied to the car that drove it.

Where to find Track

  • The Track tab at the root of the app: your Records, Events, and Tracks.
  • The Track tab on a build: that car's Records, Events, and Setups.

Track details are available to the owner and their crew. Other visitors see only results shared as posts.

Add a track

Add a track once and reuse it. The start/finish point is how PitStop times laps from GPS.

  1. Tap New track next to Tracks.
  2. Enter the Track name.
  3. Under Lap timing, long-press the map to drop a start/finish marker. Drag to fine-tune.
  4. Check the Layout name (starts as Main layout).
  5. Pick a Direction: Standard, Reverse, Clockwise, Counter-clockwise, Bidirectional, or Custom.
  6. Optionally add the Surface, then save.

A track needs a name, layout name, and start/finish point.

Layouts

A layout is one way of running a track, with its own start/finish. Tap a track to see its Layouts.

  • Start/finish set: laps are timed from GPS.
  • Set start/finish to time laps: tap it, then Edit layout to place one.

Edit layout also changes the name, direction, and surface.

Create an event

You need a track first.

  1. Tap New event on a Track tab.
  2. Enter an Event name.
  3. Pick an Event type.
  4. Pick the Track and Layout (Start/finish ready or Needs timing point).
  5. Under Builds at this event, tick each car running. Starting from a car's tab marks it This car.
  6. Add Notes if you want, then save.
  • HPDE Track Day: run groups, lap notes, drive data.
  • Road Race Event: practice, qualifying, races, tire calls.
  • R/C Race Day: practice, qualifiers, heats, mains.
  • Test Day: change one thing, run laps.
  • Drag Night: passes, time slips, setup, conditions. See Drag passes.

How a weekend groups sessions

Open an event and pick a car at the top. Everything below is that car's day.

  • Next run starts a session and shows what's On the car.
  • The headline shows your Best lap, which run set it, and time found since run 1.
  • Runs lists sessions newest first with result, gap to best, and what changed.

Sessions are named by event type:

  • Road Race Event: Practice 1, Qualifying, Race 1...
  • R/C Race Day: Practice 1, Qualifier 1..., A Main...
  • HPDE Track Day: Session 1...
  • Test Day: Test Run 1...
  • Drag Night: Pass 1...

Tap a run to open it. See Sessions and laps.

Start a session

Tap Start session in Next run. PitStop starts a track mode drive, times laps from GPS, and saves the session to the event.

  • No timing point: Lap timing needs a start/finish point, with a Set start/finish link.
  • Another drive running: Finish the active drive before starting another session.

Share an event or session

As the owner, open an event and select the car, or open a session or drag pass. Tap its Share button, add a caption, choose who can see the post, and share.

  • Share a session to show that run's result. Share an event to show the event and every run for the selected car.
  • A post can show the track, layout, date, lap times, best lap, lap count, average when available, or drag time-slip numbers.
  • Setup values, conditions, notes, telemetry readings, and the linked drive stay private to the owner and crew.
  • Sharing one car's event does not open another car's runs at the same event.
  • Deleting a share post removes the access that post granted. Another visible post sharing the same run or event can still grant access.

Shared results appear in the build's Feed and visitors' Track tab. The Share button indicates when the item is already shared.

Everything ties back to the car

Events and sessions belong to the cars that ran them, so they show on the build's Track tab.

  • Each run carries its setup. In Next run, tap Pick a version, or Record changes between runs.
  • Records are built from sessions. See Records and conditions.
