Crews
A crew is the group you roll with: meet-up friends, track day regulars, the club chat. Chat is iPhone-only; the rest works everywhere.
Create a crew
- Open Crews and tap +. No crews yet? Tap Create a Crew.
- Add a banner and Photo if you like.
- Enter a NAME (2 to 50 characters).
- Optionally set a URL SLUG: lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens. Blank means PitStop makes one.
- Add a DESCRIPTION (500 characters max).
- Turn on Public Crew for a public page.
- Tap Create.
Invite people and join
Crews are invite only, and the owner sends invites.
- Open the crew and tap the gear (Crew settings).
- Tap Invite Member.
- Search a username and tap Invite. Already invited shows Pending.
To cancel, find PENDING INVITES in the member list and tap Revoke.
To join, tap your invite in notifications and choose Join Crew or Decline.
Your crew page
- Activity: posts shared with the crew.
- Garage: members' builds.
- Events: meets and cruises, plus Crew Drives.
- Chat: the crew's channels.
To show a post in Activity, pick Crews or Public Crews when you post.
Members and roles
There's one Owner and everyone else is a member. Anyone can see the garage and events, chat, and create events and channels. Only the owner runs the roster and settings:
- Edit the crew and invite people.
- Remove a member.
- Transfer Ownership to another member. Can't be undone.
- Delete Crew removes it and all members for good.
Members can tap Leave Crew in settings. You'll need a new invite to return.
Chat and threads
Chat lives in the Chat tab on iPhone.
- Any member can make a channel: Create Channel, name it, Create.
- Use @ to mention someone. Attach a photo, or a drive, note, task, or route from your garage.
- Press and hold a message for Reply, plus Delete on yours or Report on theirs.
- Replies open a Thread with a reply count.
- Every event has its own Event chat, opened with Event Chat on the event.
To quiet a channel, open Crew Settings, then Channel Notifications, and pick All Messages, Mentions Only, or Muted. If you see Crew messages are off, your global notification setting wins.
Events and RSVPs
- Open the Events tab and tap Create Event.
- Enter a Title. Description and Location are optional.
- Set Starts at, and switch on End time if you want one.
- Turn on Public Event to let anyone with the link view it.
- Tap Create.
Answer under RSVP: Going, Maybe, or Can't Make It. The event shows the counts.
On iPhone, choose Delete Event to remove it and its chat for good. Past events are under See all events, then Past.
The Events tab on iPhone also has Crew Drives. Tap + to plan a route-backed cruise or free roam, or use Plan the crew drive on an event.
Crew garage
The Garage tab shows every member's builds. Tap one to open it. Empty shows No builds yet.
Crew settings
Tap the gear on a crew you belong to.
- Edit Crew (owner): name, slug, description, photos, public or not.
- Invite Member (owner).
- Channel Notifications.
- Delete Crew for the owner, Leave Crew for everyone else.
Public crew page
Public crews get a web page at /c/your-crew-slug with the banner, photo, description, member count, and tabs for Events, Posts, Photos, Notes, Tasks, and Drives.
Only public events and public posts appear. Private or unknown crews show Crew not found to non-members.
Public events get their own page at /c/your-crew-slug/e/event-id.
