Setups and setup revisions
A setup is the sheet taped to your car: pressures, alignment, dampers, weights. Record a baseline, then save each change as a new version.
Setups and versions
- A setup is a named thing you keep, like "Dry" or "Wet", with optional notes.
- A version is one saved snapshot. The first is the Baseline; each change after builds on the last.
Versions can't be edited or deleted, so history stays honest. The newest is what's on the car now.
Where setups live
Open a build's Track tab. Setups lists each with its latest version and version count. Empty says No setups yet.
Tap one for On the car now (the latest version, laid out like a setup sheet) and History.
Record a baseline
The baseline is the car before the first run.
- Tap New setup in Setups. You can also use Record the setup from an event, or Record baseline on a setup without one.
- Type a Setup name.
- Add measurements in each section with the plus buttons and fill in values. Corner values are laid out like the car: fronts on top, rears below.
- Use Add a measurement to find a field, or Custom measurement for your own (Measurement name, Value type of Number or Text, optional Unit).
- Optionally add Setup notes under More setup details.
- Tap Save.
Blank rows you include stay in the setup. A baseline needs a name and at least one field.
What you can record
- Tires: make and model, set, compound, cold pressure, heat cycles.
- Alignment: camber, caster, toe.
- Suspension: ride height, spring rate, bump and rebound damping, sway bars.
- Weights: corner, total, and cross weight.
- Brakes: pad compound and brake bias.
- Fuel & Ballast: fuel load, ballast weight and position.
- Launch & tune and Four-link (drag only): tune, boost target, timing, launch RPM, torque management, ethanol, bar holes, pinion angle, rear preload, wheelie bar height. Attach a tune file with Choose file; it uploads on save.
Record changes
Just record what moved.
- Tap Record changes on the setup (or under On the car in an event).
- On Update setup, everything starts as the last version, with old values like "was 25 psi". Change only what changed.
- Set a Run name (starts as Next run).
- Add a Run plan if you want, like "Free up rotation on corner exit".
- Tap Review, check Changes to save, then tap Save.
Only differences are saved, and you can't save a version with nothing changed. No Record changes button means you don't manage that car.
How versions stay trustworthy
- Each version stores what changed and the full values at that point.
- Each points back at the version it was built on.
- You can still rename a setup or edit its notes (pencil, then Edit setup) without touching any version.
Read the history
Each History row shows the version, the newest tagged On the car, with:
- Baseline: the number of values.
- Later versions: up to four changes, +N more, or No value changes.
- Your run plan, the sessions run on it with results, and the save date.
Tap a version for Notes, Based on, Saved, Changes, and the Full setup.
What was on the car
PitStop saves every session and drag pass against the version that was on the car.
Pick the version
In an event, On the car shows the version for the next run, or Setup not recorded. Tap Pick a version to choose any version of the car's setups, or Not recorded. Managers also get New setup. The drag pass sheet has a Change button.
The default is the setup from the car's last run, or a newer version if you've recorded changes since. Those are labeled Changes since last run (Changes since last pass for drag).
See it afterwards
- A session's Setup changes shows what moved going in. Full setup shows every value.
- The session's Setup section compares runs ("Run 1 → Run 2") with links to Setup used. Both need a recorded setup, or you'll see Both runs need a recorded setup to compare changes.
- In your car's records, On the car shows the setup behind a best.
Works the same for road sessions and drag passes.
